Volunteers

Fancy joining us this year as a volunteer at Oerol? Can’t wait to hop on that ferry with your tent? Or perhaps you’re keen to be part of the team for the first time? We’d love to welcome you back with open arms to Oerol 2024.

If you’re ready and willing to assist us with setup, ticket scanning, visitor information, serving drinks, checking bags, etc., then sign up as a volunteer for Oerol 2024!

General Information

Oerol runs from Friday 7th June to Sunday 16th June this year. The setup period begins on Tuesday 28th May, and the teardown period extends until Wednesday 19th June.

You can sign up for a fixed period (excluding setup and teardown). You always arrive one day before your first working day and depart the day after your last working day.

What to expect after your registration?

If you’re signing up as a volunteer for the first time at Oerol, you can indicate your top 3 preferences. Based on that, we’ll assign you to a team. After this, you’ll receive confirmation of which team you’ve been assigned to and at which campsite you’ll be staying. Next, the sub-coordinator of your team will contact you to discuss further details and answer any questions you may have. While we eagerly await the start of the festival, we’ll keep you informed about what to expect. And then the time has come! The festival has begun, and together we’ll make it a great success!

The periods are:

  • Weekend 1: Friday 7thJune to Sunday 9th June.
You arrive on Thursday  6th June, and depart on Monday 10th June.
  • Weekend 2: Friday 14th June to Sunday 16th June.
You arrive on Thursday 13th June, and depart on Monday 17th June.

There’s no difference in tasks between the two weekends. If you can stay longer than a weekend but not quite a full week, there’s a chance to extend your stay. Please indicate this on your application form.

  • Week: Monday 10th June to Sunday 16th June.
You arrive on Sunday 9th June, and depart on Monday 17th June.
  • Oerol (full period): Friday 7th June to Sunday 16th June.
You arrive on Thursday 6th June, and depart on Monday 17th June.

You could also choose to help with the festival’s setup and breakdown. There are no fixed periods for these, and you can specify your arrival and departure dates.

As a volunteer, you’ll work around 7 hours a day. With the festival running from early morning till late at night, your shifts will vary, leaving you plenty of time to enjoy the festival and the island.

What do we expect from you?

  • You’re at least 16 years old.
  • You’re available for a minimum of 3 days.
  • You follow the general code of conduct and festival rules.
  • You’re excited to volunteer!

In return for your efforts, Oerol provides:

  • A free camping spot for a small tent
  • A festival wristband
  • A delicious lunch and dinner on the days you work
  • Discounts on drinks at the backstage café
  • An Oerol crew t-shirt
  • 50% off bike rental
  • And most importantly: 50% off show tickets if you work 6 to 13 days (a week or the entire festival), and 75% off if you work more than 13 days (the festival and part of the setup or teardown).

Equally important, you’ll work in a close-knit team, meet loads of friendly new people, get a peek behind the scenes, and have ample time to immerse yourself in everything Oerol has to offer!
