The Ghanaian prince Oronooko is suffering from a heavy heart – his beloved Imoinda has been murdered. By means of a ruse, the prince ends up enslaved and chained to a ship of the West India Company, where he faces a disastrous future. UMA uses the 17th-century novella Oroonoko to unearth what lies at the foundation of human power relations.
