Meanwhile we have gotten used a bit to a new society where we have to follow rules regarding the coronavirus. During the press conference of Prime Minister Rutte on Tuesday, April 21, it became clear that all events are prohibited until September 1st and the other corona measures are extended until the 20th of May. This means that the entire Team Oerol will continue to work from home for the time being. And that culture and festival lovers have a completely different summer than usual.
We don't stand still at Oerol. We are currently working on an alternative format so that, despite everything, our festival will not pass unnoticed this year. Together with (theatre-) creators we will be searching for new ways to offer the public comfort and inspiration. We are working on an active digital Oerol experience where the island feeling will not be far away, from wherever you want to experience the festival.
Visitors who had already purchased an Oerol Festival wristband or an Oerol Theaterbundel have now received an e-mail from us. Did you buy your Oerol Festival wristband through Rederij Doeksen? They have sent you an e-mail with information about your booking.
To ensure that everyone remains healthy, Team Oerol will be working from home. The office at Terschelling is closed. This means we may be a little less accessible, but we can still do a lot by e-mail. You can reach us by phone on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from 09:00 to 13:00 hours: +31-562-448-448
A shout out to all festivals, performances and concerts that are cancelled right now: we sympathize with you and realize what this requires from you, both organizationally and financially!
We will keep you informed of developments here and through our social channels where we will share initiatives and creative ideas that are now emerging. In this way we hope to support all creators and artists that feel the impact of the coronameasures.
